It was the 18th eruptive episode since December 23, 2024 (Video Credit: USGS).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><strong>HAWAII VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK <\/strong>\u2013 One of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/world\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">world<\/a>&#8216;s most active <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/volcano\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">volcanoes<\/a> surged back to life Wednesday night in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/hawaii\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hawaii<\/a>. It was Kilauea&#8217;s 18th eruption since Dec. 23, 2024.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S.<\/a> Geological Survey (USGS), this most recent eruptive episode began just after 10 p.m. local time. Lava bursts between 10 and 15 feet high were observed around that time.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Video from live cameras showed lava bubbling in the west Halema\u02bbuma\u02bbu crater, within the greater Kilauea volcano.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The volcano&#8217;s last eruption ended just over a week ago, on April 9.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/extreme-weather\/kilauea-hawaii-volcano-eruption-video-march-11-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>HAWAII&#8217;S KILAUEA VOLCANO BLASTS LAVA 300 FEET INTO THE AIR\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Kilauea remains at an Orange alert on the USGS&#8217; alert-level system, meaning an eruption is underway but poses limited hazards.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">However, scientists are warning about the expected increased release of sulfur dioxide gas that has accompanied many of these recent eruptions.
