Christening and Launch of the NOAA Ship Reuben Lasker – June 16, 2012

Marinette Marine Corporation launched on June 16 a new fisheries survey vessel, the Reuben Lasker, it built for NOAA at its Marinette, WI shipyard. The ship was christened by Pamela Lasker, daughter of the ship’s namesake — a pioneering fisheries scientist. The high-tech ship will assess fish stocks and study other marine life, including marine mammals and sea turtles, on the West Coast.
