5th human case of EEE in NH confirmed this year


A fifth human case of Eastern equine encephalitis has been detected in New Hampshire.The Department of Health and Human Services reported that an adult in Danville tested positive for the virus in early August. The severity of the case is not clear.Before this summer, the last time New Hampshire had any human cases of the mosquito-borne illness was 2014.Health officials urged residents to take precautions against mosquito bites to prevent further spread of the virus.
