How to complete Black Ops 6 campaign Safe House secrets puzzles
Your Safe House is vital to your campaign run-through in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, a base of sorts in an abandoned mansion – but it’s also a former KGB site, meaning it hosts some impressive secrets to discover. Here are the puzzles and how to complete them.
The Safe House has been a consistent feature in past Black Ops titles campaigns, dating back to 2015’s Black Ops 3.
There’s a lot to discover in your Safe House, but it’s not been made easy by BO6 developers Treyarch, who at least want to lock some of those campaign rewards behind difficult challenges outside of the typical gameplay.
So, here are the puzzles that need to be completed and how you can do them.
All Safe House puzzles solved
You can use that code to open the safe in one of the bedrooms on the second floor. As a reward, you get 1000 cash and a knife blueprint. Sometimes generalized instructions aren’t enough. Here is a detailed step-by-step on how to solve all the Safe House puzzles and open the safe to claim your reward.
Piano puzzle
Here’s how to find and complete the piano puzzle:
- Head to the Piano room, through the right archway in the living room.
- Here, pick up the blacklight on top of the table with the white phone, right in front of the fireplace.
- Aim the blacklight at the walls and you’ll see numbers 1-5 followed by a note.
- To find the first note, look at the wooden wall with a painting of a forest.
- The second note is on the wall with the fireplace, right under an animal’s head.
- The third note is under four paintings on a white wall.
- The fourth note is near the ceiling on the wooden wall with a window.
- The fifth note is next to a wooden bench with some white towels.
- Go over to the Piano and use the blacklight to identify which key represents which symbol, then play the piano in this order:
- Head through the unlocked door to find a locked bunker.
To unlock the door to the bunker, you have to activate the generator in the basement.

Finding the basement
If you’ve never been to the basement, follow these steps to reach it:
- From the living room where the gang usually meets, take a left to enter the room with the Weapons Bench.
- Walk through the door next to the stairs, and you’ll see some computers on your left.
- Past the computers, look to the left to find another door, beyond which is a vase with withered flowers and a painting.
- Take another left through the hallway and open the wooden door on the left. These stairs lead to the basement.
- In the basement, there’s a room with one of Adler’s audio logs, and beyond that is the generator puzzle you need to solve.
Solving the puzzle
To activate the generator in the basement, do the following:
- Turn the boiler twice to close it, ensuring it isn’t leaking.
- Next, go to the fuel valve on the left and turn it once so the needle is at the center.
- Then, go to the pilot panel on the right and turn it on.
- Finally, turn the boiler twice again to open it.
At this point, the Pilot should flicker green. This means the door to access the bunker has been powered and opened.
Bunker Keypad
When you open the Bunker, you’ll follow a hallway that leads to a door that’s protected by a keypad.
First, scan the keypad with your blacklight to see which numbers have been pressed before. The correct numbers will have a cyan fingerprint on them. If a number has two visible fingerprints, it means that the number is used twice in the code.
Then, the Bunker keypad plays somewhat similar to Wordle, if anybody remembers that game: you put in a string of five numbers and the keypad will tell you if any are correct, either in the right position or somewhere in the code.
If a number is green, this means it is correct. Keep it where it is and try different number combinations around it, until all your numbers are green.
If a number is yellow, that means it is in the code but not in the position you put it: try it in another spot instead.
The code is also completely random so it will be different for everyone else – don’t try using one that your friend used as it might not work!
In the Keypad room you’ll also find a note and a computer to hack. Follow the instructions on the PC and it will provide you with a secret phrase.
Hack Computer
Behind the keypad lies a playback room. Read the papers on the green desk to the right, then hug the wall on the left to find an old computer.
Interact with the computer and check the Code Word in the top left. Use the reference at the bottom to match numbers to letters. The words you need to form are “bunker,” “room,” “open,” and “holding.”
The order may change in each playthrough, as you can see in the pictures above.
Holding Room
Exit the playback room and follow the hallway to the right to find a slightly opened door to the interrogation room. Here, you’ll have to lockpick the door next to the window to get access to a key. Inside, the red-lit room, you can find the key on top of the table.
Radio Room code
Where to use the key
The next step is to use the key to open the radio room. Head outside of the interrogation room, follow the hallway to the right, and then take a right to find another hallway with a barred door at the end. To the hallway’s left, near the end, you’ll find the radio room.
How to solve the Radio puzzle
- Walk around the room until the signal is strong and you spot a radio.
- Interact with it and align the waves. Then, listen to the instructions it gives you.
- It will be two sentences that each contain two key words – four pieces of furniture in this room.
- Here’s what the radio message was for me: “Ivan switched off the lamp by the broom closet, only the glow of the television remaining. He watched proudly as his country’s flag flashed across the screen.”
- Keep note of what the message says, either by memory or by writing it down.
- Use your blacklight to find objects in the room that match the phrases in the secret message. Each object will have a number drawn on its left, right side, or even above it. Take note of the numbers on the corresponding objects.
- I played this section twice and the words were always lamp, broom, TV, and flag. The number, in both cases, ended up being 1836.
- Head to the safe in the bedroom upstairs and input the code provided by these numbers in the order they were mentioned.
Where is the safe for the code
If you haven’t found the safe yet, follow these steps:
- Head outside of the Bunker and climb the stairs in the room to the living room’s left.
- Once you’re in the second floor, look to the left to find a hallway. Go across it and open the door.
Safe House puzzle rewards
For completing the Safe House puzzles you’ll earn the ‘Case Cracker’ blueprint for the Case Cracker Knife melee weapon.
You’ll also get $1000 which can be used at the upgrade station to unlock gear and various helpful tools to assist throughout the campaign.
The campaign has a good slate of rewards in Black Ops 6 so it’s well worth playing through to make sure you’re all geared up for multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone.
