Baby Girl’s Precious Giggles While Getting Golden Retriever Cuddles Are Everything

Some dogs were always meant to look after their human siblings and they take the role very seriously. Gus, the Golden Retriever, knew from the moment his baby sister came home they’d be the best of friends and he was right!

In the cutest video on the web this week, Gus revels in snuggling with the baby girl and her little giggles are so pure. Take a look at these two in action!

Gus (@gus_the_golden) may only be nearly 10-months-old, but already this Golden knows that laughter is the best medicine. When mom Sydney Siniard (@sydney_siniard) shared the first precious clip showing when the two besties first met, she couldn’t have known the joy this special relationship would give people all over the world.

Since then, Gus has proven himself as the best big brother ever by giving lots of kisses and offering all the cuddles the baby girl can handle. It’s the beginning of a beautiful friendship and hundreds have fallen in love with this sweet video.

“Stopppp the doggie’s smile while she laughs,” one person said. “Doesn’t get any more precious than this right here!!” another wrote. “I don’t know who is happier,” another added, and the answer is clear to me—they both are lucky to have each other.

With a reputation of being one of the most loyal, devoted, and friendly breeds, Golden Retrievers really do live up to that reputation. PetMD describes Goldens as “wonderful family dogs” because of the laundry list of amazing traits inherently bred into them over the years.

When they’re properly socialized and trained, Goldens like Gus can become BFFs with any little ones in the home, mostly because of their uncanny ability to keep their playful puppy mentality well into adulthood so they see things through rose-tinted glasses, keeping life light, fun, and happy.

This a breed that, because they’re eager to please their people, are easily trainable, adapt well, and affectionate companions who are really just so happy to be near their loved ones, strangers, kids, and literally everyone they come across! That’s part of what makes them so special.

Goldens are also so affectionate, they’ll even paw at those who dare to stop petting them! I’m not saying they’re needy, but I’ve never met a Golden Retriever who’d pass up endless pets! Gus’s human sister will learn early on—keep petting him and never stop!
