Oklahoma experiences tornado outbreak on November 3
Multiple dangerous tornadoes formed early Sunday morning in Oklahoma, causing significant damage around the state, including near Tinker Air Force Base, Harrah and other parts of the Oklahoma City metro area.
Another threat of severe weather is expected Sunday afternoon for much of Oklahoma. In the Oklahoma City area, storms were expected early afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
OKC Mayor David Holt: No reported fatalities in Oklahoma City
Mayor David Holt said on Twitter Sunday morning there were no reported fatalities in the Oklahoma City area following early Sunday storms.
“First responders were on the scene quickly and are continuing their response,” Holt posted on X (formerly Twitter).
“They report no fatalities, some injuries and some severely damaged homes. Our thoughts are with our neighbors affected by this overnight severe weather.”

Red Cross opens shelters for storm victims
The Red Cross has opened warming shelters for residents without power or who have been displaced by the storms.
- Choctaw at Choctaw Elementary School, 14663 NE 3rd Street, Choctaw
- Grand Casino, 777 Grand Casino Blvd, Shawnee
Hillside Baptist Church at 333892 E 1040 Road in McCloud has also opened for residents affected by the storms.

Emergency management: More than 10 homes damaged in Oklahoma City area
The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management said at least 14 homes were damaged overnight.
Here is a look at preliminary reports from ODEM:
- Garvin County: Four homes and a couple barns damaged along with numerous power poles and trees.
- Lincoln County: Damage to multiple structures in the southwest corner of the county. Multiple flooded areas.
- Oklahoma City: More than 10 homes damaged in two areas — near SE 89 and Sooner Road and near SE 44 and Triple X Road. The Oklahoma Heart Hospital South at Interstate 240 and Sooner Road was also damaged.
- Stephens County: Multiple power poles and debris blocking roadways. At least one home with roof damage and one overturned RV.
- Tulsa County: Multiple power lines down and a house fire caused by lightening.

Damage being surveyed after storms pass
In Stephens County, a sheriff’s office dispatcher said there were reports of power lines down. Emergency personnel were out in the county assessing any further damage.

The Oklahoma City Fire Department responded to reports of storm damage south of Tinker Air Force Base and in far eastern Oklahoma County near the Kickapoo Turnpike.

Severe weather risk continues Sunday into Monday
The National Weather Service said early Sunday morning that the state will see continued risk of severe weather on Sunday as scattered thunderstorms form in the afternoon and evening hours. Flooding will also be a threat.
The storms will move out of the area on Monday.

A tornado warning was issued for Lincoln County east of Oklahoma City. This includes Wellston.

Take action now. A warning means someone saw a tornado or one was indicated by weather radar. Under a tornado warning, there’s imminent danger to life and property. Everyone should move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and avoid windows.
