One person shot and wounded by police in N.J. town, prosecutor says
Police shot and wounded one person in an incident Thursday afternoon in Deptford Township, the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office said.
The incident occurred shortly before 3 p.m., said Chief of Detectives Thomas R. Gilbert, a spokesman for the prosecutor’s office.
“Officer discharged their gun and one round hit the individual,” said Gilbert, who added that the incident remained under investigation Thursday.
Under state attorney general guidelines, county prosecutor’s offices investigate any police-involved shooting.
