Stars, studs and duds from Packers’ Week 13 win over Dolphins

On a cold night at Lambeau Field, the Green Bay Packers got star efforts from two of their best tackle-breakers and highly productive performances from the quarterback and a pair of inside linebackers to fuel a 30-17 win over the Miami Dolphins on Thanksgiving.

The Packers jumped out to a 14-0 lead, held a 27-3 lead early in the second half and cruised to a comfortable, 13-point victory.

Here are the stars, studs and duds from the Packers’ Week 13 win over the Dolphins:

Stars

TE Tucker Kraft: His 17-yard catch converted a third down on the Packers’ second scoring drive. He produced 26 receiving yards on the Packers’ quick strike drive to end the first half. He caught passes of 16 yards and 10 yards on another scoring drive in the fourth quarter. Kraft caught six passes in total and often bowled over tackles to gain extra yards. His blocking also help spring explosive runs from Jayden Reed and Chris Brooks.

RB Josh Jacobs: His 11-yard run helped set up another 1-yard touchdown run in the first half, and Jacobs was excellent as a receiver, catching four passes for a season-high 74 yards. PFF charted him breaking 15 tackle attempts. His yards in the run game were hard earned between the tackles. His highlight play came when he juked a defender in space on a checkdown and erupted for a 49-yard gain on a pass that probably traveled five yards in the air.

Studs

QB Jordan Love: He started 0-for-2 but was accurate and confident in the pocket the rest of the way. He ended up completing 21 of 28 passes, and two were dropped. Love didn’t take a sack or have a turnover-worthy play. His average per attempt was 9.8. He hit Christian Watson for a 46-yarder and nearly created another big play down the field to Watson late in the game, but Love was mostly content playing quick and on time. His first touchdown pass to Jayden Reed was a pinpoint out-breaker to beat good coverage on third down.

LB Quay Walker: He made nine tackles without a miss and delivered four pressures on six-pass rushing attempts, including the pivotal fourth-down sack to create a red-zone stop in the fourth quarter. He played fast and aggressive once again. Walker was in on three different run stops and played a big part in shutting down De’Von Achne in the run game.

LB Isaiah McDuffie: Despite playing through a bum ankle, McDuffie delivered a team-high six stops, including a tackle for loss on Achane and a third-down stop of Tyreek Hill. He made a crunching hit in coverage, jarring the ball loose for an incompletion. He also battled Hill on a contested catch underneath. His rally to the ball and hit caused a fumble by Jonnu Smith that went out of bounds.

K Brandon McManus: Another clean, comfortable performance. He connected on all three field goals, including a 46-yarder as time expired in the first half. Conditions weren’t great for the kicking game but the veteran had no issues. He also made a nice open field tackle covering a kickoff.

DE Arron Mosby: He made a tackle for loss when he identified a jet sweep and made a nice tackle in the open field. Later, he delivered a crunching tackle covering a kickoff.

WR Jayden Reed: He caught two touchdown passes, including one on a quick screen that required some navigating after the catch. His most impressive play was a 23-yard run that featured three missed tackles forced.

Duds

LG Elgton Jenkins: He gave up a couple of pressures, and his 15-yard penalty was a red-zone killer late in the game. The Packers struggled to run the football in part due to Jenkins’ issues blocking up the Dolphins interior, particularly Zach Sieler.

LB Eric Wilson: He missed two tackles on defense and a third on special teams.
