South Korean defense ministry says martial law will remain in place until president lifts decree

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol declared martial law, saying the decree would protect the country from what he called “anti-state groups” and “threats of North Korea’s communist forces.” NBC News’ Janis Mackey Frayer reports on the immediate opposition from the country’s parliament and subsequent statement from the defense ministry.
