POLL! Huh. Have Y’all Been Calling This Humboldt Place ‘Point of Cows’ and Just Not Telling Us? | POLLZ | Lost Coast Outpost

During recent bout of office boredom, we found ourselves again dreaming of a Wildcat drive out to the Lost Coast — not an uncommon occurrence, to be honest. Such longing, we’ve found, can be partially quelled by zooming around Google Maps, which, today, led to a curious discovery. 

You know that stretch of sublime coast you see to the right just as the Mattole Road descends to Singly Creek. You know. It’s that big reveal moment of the drive that lets you know that the gas investment was worth it. Yeah, that part. Majestic. Well, Google lists that as being called “Point of Cows.” Behold!

What!

You know where this is going. In all of our years of living in Humboldt County — since birth, for you weirdos that might try to out-local us — we have never heard anyone call this “Point of Cows.” Trust us. We would remember that. 

So, Humboldt. Tell us. Have you been calling that place “Point of Cows” this whole time? Or what?
