DIY win the WWE tag team titles

Well, here we are again.

DIY are WWE tag team champions.

The Street Profits were scheduled to challenge The Motor City Machine Guns for the titles on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown in Minnesota but they were taken out in a backstage attack early in the evening. Johnny Gargano just so happened to be in the right place at the right time to campaign to General Manager Nick Aldis to take Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins’ place, something Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin happily agreed to.

So the match was on.

Despite this, Tommaso Ciampa was unhappy. His discontent remained the big story well into the match too, as he and Gargano turned on each other and it appeared their partnership had blown up — until the ruse was revealed and Johnny turned on his longtime friends with a low blow.

The gold soon followed.

It’s a new day for DIY — at least on the main roster.
