Hideki Kamiya’s new studio, Clovers, is working with Capcom on an Okami sequel

Hideki Kamiya has announced his next project, and his new studio.

Clovers Studio is currently working on a sequel to Okami, developed in partnership with Capcom.

The studio’s name will be of particular interest to PlatinumGames, the studio Kamiya co-founded in 2007 before leaving last year.

Clover Studio was the name of the Capcom-founded studio that was established in 2004.

The studio was responsible for Viewtiful Joe, God Hand and Okami, before shutting down after just a few years.

Several notable Clover members, including Kamiya, went on to form PlatinumGames, which would go on to release such games as MadWorld, Bayonetta, Vanquish, The Wonderful 101, Nier: Automata and Astral Chain.

Kamiya left Platinum in October 2023, saying he made the decision after “a lot of consideration based on my own beliefs” and suggested that he would continue to make games.
