OnePlus Open 2 / Oppo Find N5 release timeline outed along with more specs
The original OnePlus Open launched last year as the international version of the China-only Oppo Find N3, and we assume the same will happen with the upcoming and oft-leaked Find N5 and Open 2.
Today a new rumor out of China sheds some more light on this phone, that will most likely be sold under two different names. According to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, and will be both thinner (and impressively so) and lighter than its predecessor, while also boasting better battery life.
Original OnePlus Open
It’s said to be the only flagship Android-running folding smartphone to be releasing in the first half of next year. The Open 2 / Find N5 will support wireless charging, and will be IPX8 rated for water resistance. It’s apparently also got a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera on the rear and an “anti-drop body structure”, which sounds intriguing when machine translated like that. Naturally, the device will run Android 15 with ColorOS 15 on top in China and OxygenOS 15 globally.
The Oppo Find N5 is allegedly due to become official before the end of March. It’s unclear how soon after that the OnePlus Open 2 will follow.
