Senate step closer to removing Social Security restrictions | Local Politics

The Senate voted to end debate on the House-passed Social Security Fairness Act setting up a final vote on removing, after 40-years, the Windfall Elimination Provision, called WEP, and the Government Pension Offset, or GPO, that reduces Social Security benefits for about 94,000 public servants and retirees in Louisiana.
